Clinical Emergency Management Program (CEMP) Intermediate workshop
The Clinical Emergency Management Program (CEMP) Intermediate workshops have been designed to build participants’ knowledge, skills and confidence when responding to medical emergencies. This workshop includes CPR practice and assessment, which meets the 2014–2016 triennium basic CPR course requirement. It also meets the basic life support (BLS) and advanced life support (ALS) training requirements for general practice registrars and RACGP Fellowship. These workshops are facilitated by a national team of highly trained intensive care paramedics. The course is developed by GPs in collaboration with qualified paramedic professionals who have many years’ experience teaching emergency medicine.
Accredited for 40 category 1 RACGP QI&CPD points.

The CEMP Advanced workshop has been designed to further build participants’ knowledge, skills and confidence when responding to medical emergencies. This 2 day workshop is facilitated by a national team of highly trained intensive care paramedics and focuses on the management of life threatening adult trauma and paediatric emergencies within the first 30 minutes of an emergency.
Accredited for 80 category 1 RACGP QI&CPD points.

Rural Procedural Grants Program
The Rural Procedural Grants Program provides financial support to maintain and enhance the clinical skills of GPs and locums who deliver:
1. unsupervised anaesthetics, obstetrics and / or surgery in ACGC-RA 1*-5 locations (1* dependent on additional approval)
2. unsupervised emergency medicine in 24-hour triaging Accident and Emergency facilities located in ASGC-RA 2-5 locations.
This financial support is offered as a grant of $2000 per day for up to 10 days of training per financial year for procedural GPs and for up to 3 days of training per financial year for GPs providing hospital based emergency services.
Rural Locum Education Assistance Program (LEAP)
The Rural Locum Education Assistance Program (LEAP) is aimed at improving the availability of locums in rural and remote Australia. It provides financial assistance to city GPs who undertake emergency training and commit to a 4 week (20 working days) rural locum placement within a 2 year period. Successful applicants receive 3 days of emergency medicine training at $2000 per day.
GPs who attend a CEMP workshop may be eligible for these training grants but they must be registered in the grants programs prior to attending the workshop.
